Do I Fit in?

“God has been so kind to us, and he accepted us because of Jesus. And so we will live and rule like kings.” Romans 5:17

Hehe heyyy:) Welcome to another post! I’m so glad you’re here! Lately the title of this blog has been ringing in my head, and this is not the only time it has made its appearance in my thoughts. A lot of us struggle with feeling truly accepted. Even when others around us may not intend to leave us out, our insecurities and self doubt create feelings of discomfort. Of invisibility, even. This happens a lot with friend groups and gatherings, because the attention is split in a lot of different ways. Truthfully, though, we should always feel sufficient, and we should always be enough for ourselves. At the end of the day, we are already accepted by God, and his acceptance and overwhelming love are more than enough.

Recently, I went to this bible study with women of ages 18-25. I haven’t been to one in a hot minute, but I remembered how warm my heart felt the last time I did. These girls were forthcoming about their hidden mental battles, and turns out we all had similar ones! Feeling left out and feeling invisible were two common issues we all had, and we all agreed it is extremely difficult to find our place in this world. What I took from this, though, is that so many struggle with the foundation and security in Jesus Christ. Honestly! I find myself questioning why things are the way they are, and why I don’t have a million friends (whether it be on social media and or in person), but really I do NOT NEED the reassurance of others. I’ve got this amazing, forgiving father that has got my back through it all.

I ALWAYS felt like I needed more attention and so much more love than I received. I still feel like that sometimes when I am alone or when people are not talking to me or acknowledging me. This is a serious sign that I HAVE to pursue security and foundation in my faith. Our God is GREAT. He is perfect. To be accepted with welcoming arms like his, is the BEST acceptance out there. When you feel alone and outcasted, just remember who you always have in your corner. I hope you can take something from this in your upcoming week, and I encourage you to spend some time in prayer when you feel left out. We are already enough in God’s eyes, so do not doubt your worth based on others acknowledgement of you. Thank you so much for reading, and I will catch up with you guys next week!
