“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” colossians 3:23-24
Hehe heyyy:) Welcome back to another blog post! Thanks so much for coming! Today’s topic relates to WHO or WHAT you dedicate your hard work to. This could be in anything! Whether it be in the gym, in school, your diet, etc. When you are doing something that takes some serious soul searching and absolute maximum effort, what are you digging deep to? What keeps your fire burning? Today I’m going to share with you some of the thoughts and feelings I have when I’m doing something really challenging, and how it helps me push past my comfort zone.
My first time in the gym was a WRECK. I would be very quiet, unless I could give an excuse not to do something. I would cheat myself out of the work, unless I had JT (my boyfriend) there to seriously scream/pep talk me into giving it more energy. Recently, though what I have been doing to get the most out of the workout is digging DEEP. Get in the right mindset-Why am I here? Who am I doing this for? Why put in so much work? Your answer could be different than mine, but personally, I tap into my faith. When I am done, long gone, walking into heaven, will I be proud of what I have done? Will I have a good list of accomplishments to look back on? These are a few thoughts that fuel the fire. I still have some issues with the failure aspect, but I’m workin’ on it!
A really big challenge I have had lately, is waking up and feeling insecure. Feeling anxious. Feeling unworthy. Honestly! I am sure you all have felt this way at some point in time, and this feeling is a REALLY big challenge to overcome. In order to get past these feelings, for me, I have to really dig deep and talk to God. “Why do I feel like this? I don’t know why I woke up this way. Please give me the strength to push past this self doubt.” This is along the lines of what my talks look like. This is a MUST for me. I call on God to give me the strength that I lack, so that I can pursue things that are seemingly impossible to me. HE is what I dedicate my hard work to in the end, and this has helped me a lot!
Truthfully speaking, there are just so many times where I need to dig deeper to discover more drive and adrenaline to complete things. You, like me, can probably agree with this! Today I challenge you to push yourself past your mental barriers; channel out the doubt and channel in the strength God has given you to succeed. I know that this has helped me, and it will help you, too! Thank you so much for reading, and I’ll check back with you next week!
